SW Washington Fishing Report

SW Washington - Water levels for SW Washington streams are reaching ideal levels for steelheaders. The East Fork of the Lewis is primed for late wild steelhead and the Kalama is producing some fair broodstock fish as well.

The Cowlitz is now a strong late season option as hatchery production has once again shifted to a later returning stock of fish likely to peak in early April. Sidedrifters should score well on these quality fish and bank anglers will also catch a few close to the hatchery.

Cowlitz River smelt were recently listed as threatened on the Federal Endangered Species list. Future regulations and restrictions are likely.
